Jacob had a pretty good first year minus the first few months that were very difficult. Jacob was always a happy little guy and loved smiling and laughing. He started to crawl around 6 months and started trying to get into everything! He tried his first solids at 4 months and loved it! He was a pretty big eater and loved new tastes, his favorites became sweet potato and apples. In this post there will be various pictures throughout Jacob’s first year of life.
Things were really hard those first couple months of life for Jacob and for us as parents. Jacob had severe acid reflux, I was trying to nurse him which made him very gassy so we would alternate between nursing and formula feeding, he would spit up almost every kind of formula until we put him on the super pricey Similac Alimentum, he seemed to do well with that and eventually got put on some strong acid reflux medication. I never knew how hard it would really be those first couple months, but let me tell ya, it was hard. Jacob only slept at 30 minute spurts here and there, I was running on empty and had a case of the baby blues, not exactly post partum depression but more of a mild form of it. My mom came over and helped us on Friday nights by getting up through the night to care for him and letting James and I have a solid night of sleep, it was one of the greatest luxuries ever to get 1 full night of sleep. Through all the trials of those first couple months, I never forgot how incredibly blessed we were to have this miracle in our lives, and here are some pictures to share of those first couple months, he was already a little ham at a young age, enjoy….
So many people came to see Jacob in the hospital and the days following his birth, so many were excited about his arrival, here is some memories of people that came to see him.
This is a blog about our son Jacob John Giles who was born on January 25th, 2008 at 2:54pm weighing 7lbs 3oz’s. Jacob was born to us proud parents, James and Joanna Giles. We wanted this precious little guy for so long and we endured a long and hard journey before we were blessed with him. This is the place to come for updates on Jacob and how he is growing and learning new things but for now, we will start back from where it all began, when Jacob came into the world on January 25th, 2008……
